Healthy food that doesn't taste Healthy

You heard… um read that right! Don’t be shy. Let’s all admit, that healthy food sometimes doesn’t taste so good.

But I am armed with my ancestors knowledge of spices and aromatics! And hence, I present to you, a healthy, preservative free, spicy and beautifully crunchy Chicken Nuggets, wrapped in winter season’s delight – lettuce.

Okay, that was a bit much, but it’s really tasty, and this can serve as your lunch or dinner. 

Ingredients

Chicken – 150g
Green chilies – 5
Garlic – 1 Large clove or 8-10g
Ginger – 5-8 g
Button mushroom – 3
Onion – 1/2 small
Coriander – 3 stems
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp

For the Coating : 

AP Flour or Maida
1 egg – beaten
Panko

For the Wrap:

Iceberg or Romaine lettuce
Bell pepper
Cucumber
Onion
Lime
Black salt

Instructions

Baking Instructions :

  1.  Preheat Oven at 220°C for 5 minutes before baking
  2. Bake at 230°C for 15-20 mins on the lowest rack – until both sides of the nugget is golden brown

Additional information :

  1. The ground meat mixture will come out sticky. You do not need to add flour to it.

Instructions : 

  1. Debone the meat, cut it into smaller chunks and add it into a grinder.
  2. Add the aromatics, along with salt and oil and grind until a smooth paste form
  3. A sticky paste will be the result
  4. Take a small amount, form a rough oval shape, and place it on top of the maida/ap flour. Coat both sides.
  5. Then add the flour coated nugget into the egg mixture. Coat both sides well and place it into the panko crumbs
  6. Coat both sides and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Preheat your oven
  8. Place the Baking sheet in the bottom rack and let the bottom side cook for 12-15 minutes. Once the edge are golden, Flip the nuggets in the oven itself. Be careful please.
  9. And cook the other side for another 5-10 minutes.
  10. The nuggets will rise a bit because of the flour and egg mixture. 
  11. Finally take them out of the oven, and wrap them with your favourite veggies, add lime juice, a little black salt and enjoy!

    I have a microwave oven, so can you please guide me through the temperature.
    I don’t have 230°C. So can I bake it in Convection mode at 220° or 240° ?
